Off to the airport!!
Because the Tucson Temple was closed the week of transfers, we had to do another temple trip to the Gila Valley Temple the week before transfers.
Usually, our departing missionaries get to spend their last day in the mission at the temple. However, this transfer the Tucson Temple was closed for cleaning the week of transfers.
With that, we took the missionaries to the Gila Valley Temple (the other temple in our mission) the week before they left.

President Browning;
Thank you so much for allowing some of our great Tucson missionaries to participate in the Rodeo Parade this morning. I’m glad the weather held out and they didn’t get drenched! From all accounts, they seemed to enjoy themselves and there couldn’t have been any better representatives of the original Mormon Battalion.
Attached are some pictures you might enjoy. What is not shown in the pictures is a wagon drawn by two horses and carrying the Tucson Mormon Battalion Brass Band playing period music all along the route. Also, there were two of the elders assigned to walk alongside the horses for safety sake.
Thanks again for providing these fine young men!
Even though one could argue these pictures look like postcard or wall calendar pictures, all of these photographs were personally taken by the Browning’s. We love this gorgeous and unique Sonoran Desert!
Oops! How did this sweet cactus get in here? (President and Sister’s Browning’s grand daughter cactus!)
